The Okwuchukwu Fund
A support fund for students in pharmaceutical sciences
In 2001, our only paternal cousin, Chidị Adịọha, passed away after battling kidney failure. He studied at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and was the first person from our hometown to earn a degree in Pharmacy.
Chidị Adịọha was from Ụmụezeagụ, Ezealaeke, Owerre-Ebeiri, in Orlu Local Government Area of Imo State.
The fund supports final-year Pharmacy students who are indigenes of Imo State and enrolled at universities across Nigeria. It provides financial support for capstone research projects in the pharmaceutical sciences, helping to ease the financial barriers that can limit student research and innovation. Through this support, the fund honors Chidị’s legacy while investing in the next generation of pharmacists and their potential to contribute to stronger and more sustainable healthcare in Nigeria.
